Economic Development in Rainier Beach

Our Mission

To grow a thriving cultural community with equitable access to economic opportunity.

The Rainier Beach Economic Development Roundtable Initiative (RBEDRI) promotes equitable economic development for small businesses and residents in and around the Rainier Beach neighborhood. We provide business advice, technical assistance training, capacity building and access to funding.

Our focus:

Supporting development in the neighborhood.

  1. Engage with developers to identify available spaces;
  2. Conduct outreach to understand community needs for priority businesses; and
  3. Identify and match businesses to occupy new commercial spaces and be successful.
  4. Conduct townhalls to gain community and developer input around upcoming commercial space. 

Supporting small buisnesses and entreprenurship.

  1.  Help BIPOC-Owned businesses survive covid-19 and to thrive beyond it
  2. Providing services focused on the business owner (Case-Management).
  3. Assessing digital presence and capability; providing a gap analysis of needed solutions; and providing access to existing digital resources and/or delivering solutions directly to small businesses.

Promoting jobs and economic access coordination.

  1. Increase resources and support for retention of workers from underrepresented groups.
