On the last Saturday of every month RBAC offers a Freedomnet training hosted by our awesome Ken who handles all things tech management here at RBAC. The focus of these training vary from month to month but they always train youth in skills that they will be able to use in their real lives. Real skills that they can take into the professional world.  This particular training focused on utilizing twitter to grow our social media presence/reach. I learned how to compile pictures into moments on twitter. We also learned how to make Twitter lists. Some of the more experienced people on the FreedomNet team learned how to use an app called Hootsuite. Hootsuite is an app that allows you to manage all of your social media presence at once. This team might just become the next best social media marketing team in the neighborhood. In addition to learning about all things Twitter, we also learned about website maintenance. Aside from the https://www.rbcoalition.org/ website another website that RBAC takes care of is http://www.seseattlefreedomnet.org/ . The team that was there learned how to post on the website. They also learned how to post videos and take screen shots from the computer. Those screenshots can then be used for the featured images on the posts that you see. Call us if you want to become a citizen journalist and help change the narrative of Rainier Beach from the inside out.
