Call for Ethnic/Traditional Musicians Living and/or Working in Southeast Seattle

The Southeast Seattle Community Youth Orchestra is hiring musicians that are representative of the diverse culture of Southeast Seattle (Africa, African American, China, Hispanic, Philippines, South Pacific Islands, Vietnam) to join us in a yearlong
study of ethnomusicology called One Neighborhood – One World.

Requirements include: Ability to work with children and youth, Work collaboratively with Orchestra staff implementing a curriculum that includes overview of cultural, historical and social dynamics of your culture, Demonstrate and teach your musical style (instrumental/vocal), Work with Orchestra in creation of an example of fusion music, Participate in Community Concert in November 2013.
