TransitJusticeYouthCorpsThe Rainier Beach Neighborhood Action Team had a very productive meeting on Thursday, May 2, 2913. Focused on Transit Justice,  panelists from Bike Works/Greenways, Transit Riders Union, Transportation Choices Coalition and the transit youth talked about what they are doing to defend and advance transit justice and our neighborhood’s transportation priorities.

THREE WAYS to SUPPORT TRANSIT JUSTICE & SAFE STREETS in RB: SAFE STREETS!

Did you notice that you do not have enough time to cross the street? Seattle Greenways has been doing a research study in the Rainier Valley/ Columbia City neighborhood. If interested, attend their meeting in Columbia City on May 8th at Urban Impact starting at 6pm.

LOW- INCOME BUS FARE.

Bus fares have gone up by 80% since 2008 and that is why the Transit Riders Union is fighting for a low- income fare. Please show your support by signing the petition to King County Council to make sure all people are able to afford to ride the bus!

MORE BUS CUTS?!

Metro is looking at cutting another 66 bus routes unless we do something about it. There is currently a transportation bill, HB 1954 to help prevent these cuts by giving transit agencies new funding options! Call your legislators at 1-800-562-6000 today and tell them you support HB 1954. We can’t take any more bus cuts!
