Rainier Beach Merchants Association presents its 5th Annual Art Walk Rainier Beach on
Saturday, September 5th, from 10am to 4:30pm FREE Interactive Family Friendly Festival at the Rainier Beach Community Center. This year we celebrate all of the people who have ever called Rainier Beach home, including honoring our first peoples – the Duwamish – with an opening ceremony with Chief Sealth’s 4th Great-grandson, Ken Workman, at 10:00 AM! Here are just a few other jewels that are lined up for this event: Sa’a’du’uts – Haida master canoe-maker and artist in residence at the Center for Wooden Boats, International Totem Pole Project with the Scouts and Rainier Beach Ready Emergency Hub
Immigration Story Project with Rainier Beach Community Center and Southeast Seattle Senior Center, Alan Fai Chinese Calligraphy Artist Demonstration, Peace Flags,CHICKENS (!!) and make-your-own SEED BOMBS with Seattle Farm Coop and TILTH,ROAR Pop-up Farm Stand, Giant Chess with Detective Cookie’s Pop-up Chess Par, FREE AWRB 2015 cinch sacks and bike helmets (while supplies last!) with Rainier Beach Merchants Association and SEED, A small but mighty number of madly talented ARTISTS!
