Event: Auditions for Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Dates: Tuesday, Feb. 8 through Thursday, Feb 17, 2011

Location: University Heights Community Center (5031 University Way NE in Seattle, University District)

Our dedication to an all‐inclusive program continues to grow, and we are expanding our efforts to find talent from throughout the South Seattle community to produce spectacular shows this spring. We have produced productions of DREAMGIRLS, FAME, CATS, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, and GOD LIVES IN GLASS at the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Center at Rainier Beach High School. We have a number of students from South Seattle currently on scholarship and performing in HAIRSPRAY at the Broadway Performance Hall on Capitol Hill.

We have a need‐based scholarship program that allows eligible students to participate without cost, as well as a transportation stipend program to assist our young actors who want to participate but cannot afford the tuition and/or the transportation from the South Seattle area to the University District.

Big River is open to students in grades 1 – 12 and rehearses twice per week from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the University Heights Community Center. Rehearsals begin on Monday, February 28th. Big River will open at the Falls Theatre at ACT (Downtown Seattle) on Friday, June 4th and close on Sunday, June 19th. Each actor MUST sign up for an audition in order to participate, but every actor who auditions is cast in the show.
