The Rainier Beach Farm Stand has been going strong throughout the summer providing free, fresh, healthy produce to the Rainier Beach community.! Even though you see the fellows every Saturday passing out produce, you probably don’t know about the work they are doing behind the scenes. A few days before Saturday the fellows take on the responsibility of deciding which produce items to feature and the amount of produce to buy from local POC farmers. They take note of which items are doing well, and which are not doing so well each Saturday, adjusting the next week’s order accordingly. These young adults are learning job skills that they can take with them wherever their career path leads them.
