HomeSight, a 501(c)(3) CDFI and Community Development Corporation, in partnership with Martin Luther King Business Association, Beacon Business Alliance, Mt. Baker Hub, Rainier Avenue Business Coalition, Columbia City Business Association, and Rainier Beach Merchants, has launched a website that enables the user to find an essential business in Southeast Seattle.

Just days after HomeSight announced $130,000 in available grant funds for person of color, immigrant, refugee and woman owned small businesses in Southeast Seattle, www.essentialseseattle.com was launched to help combat the loss of business due to the impact of COVID-19. Over 1,000 business serve residents from all over the Puget Sound and beyond. Businesses across the nation are feeling the impact of COVID-19 but Seattle holds the distinction of having the first confirmed cases, causing our businesses to suffer significant losses in revenue.

“We are trying to respond to the needs of, not only the business community, but the residents in Southeast Seattle,” says Sarah Valenta, the Community & Business Development Manager and HomeSight. “We want to connect those residents to the open essential businesses in an effort to support our local economy.”

www.essentialseseattle.com is funded by the Seattle Office of Economic Development and managed by HomeSight.
