Community-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is improving public safety by encouraging safe, respectful, and responsible behavior in the neighborhood. PBIS does this by creating consistent expectations, promoting and recognizing positive behavior, and building friendships across generations and communities.

The PBIS team has been meeting with groups of organizations in Rainier Beach and discussing ways to improve public safety by encouraging safe, respectful, and responsible behavior in the neighborhood. There have been two meetings thus far and both have been received well. Some of the participating organizations include Kouyate Arts, NW Kidney Center, Seattle Housing Authority, Bellwether Housing, DM Wireless, Walaahala Market, and Empowering Youth and Families Outreach.
